Layne
Layne Miller (b.1999) grew up on the South Shore of Long Island. Since his apprenticeship, Layne has been tattooing for nearly 4 years. His tattoo designs are inspired by archaeology, ancient knowledge, mysticism, alchemy and botany. Layne combines ancient tattoo techniques (handpoking) with precise, modern machine linework. Many examples of his healed work can be found in his story highlight on his Instagram page.
When he is not tattooing or drawing, Layne enjoys tending the family garden, growing medicinal plants and foraging for wild treasures. He enjoys collecting antiques, cooking and playing folk instruments. As a side hustle during the summer months, Layne sells his botanical wares and curiosities at outdoor markets and events. Layne is a member of the NYC artist community Chinatown Soup and recently had his artwork published by FSG Books.
Aside from the joy of getting to be creative, Layne’s favorite part about tattooing is getting to know clients. He is very grateful for the kind and interesting people he has befriended through tattooing.
