Post-Tattoo Care Instructions

So you just got a new tattoo! Please check our recommendations below how to take care of it. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call us and ask.

● If your bandage is black, leave on for a minimum of 2 hours. For Saniderm/clear bandages, please leave on for 3-5

days. It is common to see blood plasma forming under the bandage. If the bandage falls off naturally, just keep the

tattoo clean and moisturized.

* If your skin is irritated along the edge of the bandage, take it off immediately because you are sensitive to the adhesive. Don’t be alarmed, your tattoo will be fine, just monitor your skin.

● Gently remove bandage(s) under warm running water to reduce the risk of damaging the tattoo.

● Once the bandage is completely removed, DO NOT re-bandage the tattoo.

● After removing the bandage please clean your tattoo with using unscented soap, wash off the tattoo well with your hand, and luke water.

● When done cleaning the tattoo, gently pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel and allow the tattoo to air dry for

about 5-10 minutes.

● Applying ointment: Apply a thin layer of organic coconut oil or shea butter or any plant-based lotion, 4-6 times a day.

● The healing ointment can be applied to the tattoo daily for about 10-14 days.

● DO NOT exercise for at least 5 days! Better if you wait until your tattoo is completely healed. (*2-3 weeks)

● DO NOT pick or scratch the tattoo while it is peeling.

● DO NOT soak the tattoo for 3 weeks. No swimming, baths, hot tubs or saunas for 3 weeks.

● DO NOT shave or wax the area until the tattoo is completely healed.

● DO NOT apply alcohol, vaseline, petroleum jelly to a fresh tattoo.

● DO NOT have direct sunlight on your tattoo for the first 3 weeks. Once it is healed, use a high factor sunblock.

● DO NOT listen to your friends or so-called “tattoo experts”. If you have questions, contact the artist who did your

tattoo!!

● First 3 days, some ink can come out with plasma. Nothing to worry about but always use clean shirts and sheets.

● Once you leave the tattoo studio, proper care of your tattoo is your responsibility.
